The coaches set to lead WA's Under-16 teams in the upcoming Hockey Australia U16 Championships being held in Hobart in April have been revealed ahead of trials for our athletes hoping to be considered to don the black and gold.

With Hockey WA set to send two teams in both the Boy's and Girl's competitions for the national tournament, a combination of experienced and promising coaches are set to lead our young hockey stars.

Coaching the Girls Gold team will be Julie De Silva, assisted by Matt Tate, while Stuart Wishart has been appointed Head Coach of the Girls Black team, assisted by Ella Munro.

In the Boys teams, Joel Bell will lead the Gold team as Head Coach, assisted by Clay Faulds, while Donna McKeown will coach the Black team, with Mitch McGrath acting as Assistant.

Team Managers and Physiotherapists for each team are yet to be announced.

Hockey WA Performance and Pathways manager Trid Woodhouse congratulated the coaching staff that have been appointed for 2024.

"We are thrilled to unite our seasoned and up-and-coming coaches, creating strong coaching teams," he said.

"Each team possesses distinct skills that blend well to enhance overall knowledge.

"We wish them success in the State team campaigns and we are anticipating impressive performances in Hockey Australia's newest hockey age group."
