WA State U18 Coaching Appointments revealed

The coaches set to lead WA's Under-18 teams in the upcoming Hockey Australia U18 Championships being held on the Gold Coast in July have been revealed ahead of trials for our athletes hoping to be considered to don the black and gold.

With Hockey WA set to send two teams in both the Boy's and Girl's competitions for the national tournament, the coaching staff is set to boast plenty of wisdom for our young athletes.

Coaching the Men’s Gold team will be Alistair Addison, assisted by Stuart Van Selm, while Lachie Ashton has been appointed Head Coach of the Men’s Black team, assisted by Keith Old.

Lauren Austin has been appointed Head Coach of the Women’s Gold team, while Temeka Curley will coach the Women’s Black team, assisted by Luke Marmion.

Team Managers and Physiotherapists for each team are yet to be announced.

WA Under-18 State Team trials will begin on Saturday 13 April from 7.00am to 12.00pm, with the Men’s trials taking place at the UWA Superturf and the Women’s trials taking place at Hale Hockey Club.

The second day of trials will see both Men’s and Women’s candidates at Perth Hockey Stadium on Sunday 14 April from 7.00am to 12.00pm.

The Hockey Australia Under-18 Championships takes place in Gold Coast, Queensland from Wednesday 3 July to Thursday 11 July, 2024.
