Hockey WA are now taking nominations for players wishing to be considered for the 2026 State Under 21 Mens and Womens Teams.

The trials will be used to select ONE team per gender to compete at the Hockey Austraia Under 21 National Championships to be held in Canberra, ACT from 23rd to 30th April 2026.

The two WA State teams will depart Perth 21st April 2026 and return 1st May 2026. 

To be eligible to nominate for 2026 State Under 21 team selection a player must be born after 1 January 2005.

Please note:

• All athletes who nominate for the 2026 State Under 21  Teams trials will be provided with a physical conditioning program 21's Pre-Season in preparation for the first trials in February 2026. Athletes will be subject to fitness testing at the trials.
• After Trial 1, all athletes will be notified via email by 5pm Friday 30th Jan if they are proceeding to the Trial 2. Please note, that individual feedback is not provided at this stage.
• After Trial 2, all athletes will be notified via email by 5pm Tuesday 3rd Feb if they are proceeding to Trial 3. Unsuccessful athletes 3 working days to request in writing for feedback.
• Selected athletes are expected to attend all training sessions, held on Monday and Wednesday nights at PHS. Training commences, Week 9th Feb 26 until departure.
• Please note that video anaylsis maybe used as part of the selection process. 
• Nominations close 9am on Monday 19th January 2026
