Hockey WA COVID-19 Update 23/04/21

Published Fri 23 Apr 2021

The Hockey WA office and Perth Hockey Stadium will be closed from 5:00pm Friday 23 April until 12:01am Tuesday 27 April, per the WA Government’s 3-day lockdown restrictions, which will take place from 12:01am Saturday 24 April.

The State Government-enforced lockdown relates to the Perth metropolitan and Peel regions. Any meetings, training sessions and events slated to take place during this period on Hockey WA premises, including the Hockey WA office and at Perth Hockey Stadium, will be cancelled or postponed.

Scheduled hockey matches this round will not go ahead as per the requirements from the State Government - due to the fast-evolving nature of the situation, this is inclusive of games scheduled before the 3-day lockdown commences. To be clear all games scheduled this evening are cancelled.

Games outside of the Perth metropolitan and Peel regions can go ahead as scheduled. Based off of the advice from the State Government, Hockey WA advises players that have been in the Perth Region during the times of concern to wear a mask at all times, with masks only removed while playing. We advise clubs and associations to follow COVID-19 cleaning requirements at all clubs and venues - more information can be found at health.wa.gov.au.

Hockey WA is closely monitoring the situation at hand. Hockey WA will be in touch with those stakeholders due to take part in events in the days immediately following the 3-day lockdown, in due course, once the situation becomes clearer.

Hockey WA strongly advises all clubs, associations, players and other stakeholders to diligently follow all State Government requirements.

Hockey WA would like to thank its stakeholders for their understanding of this fast-evolving situation.
