Hockey WA are now taking nominations for players wishing to be considered for the 2026 State Under 18 Mens and Womens Teams.

The trials will be used to select TWO teams of up to 18 per team and gender to compete at the Hockey Austraia Under 18 National Championships to be held in Darwin, NT from 3rd to 11th July 2026.

The four WA State teams will depart Perth 1st July 2026 and return 12th July 2026. 

To be eligible to nominate for 2026 State Under 18 team selection a player must be born after 1 January 2008. 

Trial dates, time and venue below: 

Please note:

• All athletes must sign in at the start of every trial phase. The registration desk will be open in the Cafe area of PHS 45mins prior to trial start time. 
• All athletes are expected to be conducting their own warm up (no balls) on or around the turf, at least 15mins prior to trial start time.
• No State or Club colours apparel is to be worn.
• After Trial 2, athletes invited to Trial 3 will be published on our website by 5pm Monday 20th April. Please note there is no individual feedback provided at this stage.
• After Trial 3, all athletes will firstly be notified via email before 5pm Friday 24th April if they are proceeding to the extended squad. This list of identified athletes will then be published on our website after 5pm Friday 24th April. Athletes unsucessful are also notified via email and at this  stage can request individual feedback via email within 3 days of the outcome.
• Selected athletes are expected to attend all training sessions, held on Monday and Wednesday nights at PHS. The training cycle for this group starts week commencing 27th April until departure.
• Please note that video anaylsis maybe used as part of the selection process.
• Always check your junk/spam folders, for emails. 
• Exemption requests are submitted via the registration process and reviewed on a case by case bases. Outcome's for exemption submission will come via email once nominations have closed.
• Nominations close 5pm Wednesday 15th April, 2026.
