2025 Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships Boys J9/10 Wrap

WA’s rising hockey stars continue to shine as the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships heat up.

From Wednesday 9 July to Friday 11 July, teams from across the state have brought their A-game to the UWA Superturfs for the Boys J9/10 competition.

A total of 13 teams initially competed in pool matches before being split into two divisions based on their pool stage performance.

In Division 1, Whitford delivered a commanding performance to secure the championship title, defeating the strong Upper Great Southern Hockey Association with a decisive 4-0 victory.

Whitford’s triumph capped off a flawless tournament run—they remained undefeated throughout, winning every pool and division match en route to the Grand Final. Their consistency and dominance were unmatched.

Despite the final result, Upper Great Southern Hockey Association also impressed throughout the tournament, with their only loss coming against the eventual champions.

In Division 2, WASPS clinched a dramatic victory over Avon Hockey Association. After a gripping 3-3 draw in regular time, the match went to shootouts, where WASPS dominated with a flawless 3-0 performance.

The Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships continue with three exciting events:

• Boys J7/8 Championships: Monday 14 July to Wednesday 16 July at Perth Hockey Stadium
• Mixed J11/12 Championships: Tuesday 15 July to Thursday 17 July at Troy Pickard Hockey Centre and Hale Hockey Club
• Girls J7/8 Championships: Wednesday 16 July to Friday 18 July at Perth Hockey Stadium
