2025 CBH Group Women’s Country Championships Wrap

Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association have held off a determined Esperance Hockey Association outfit to claim back-to-back titles as CBH Group Women’s Country Champions.

The 2025 CBH Group Women’s Country Championships saw 44 teams from as far south as the Great Southern to as far north as the Pilbara converge on Perth Hockey Stadium and Fletcher Park from Friday 13 June to Sunday 15 June.

From close contests to camaraderie amongst teammates, there was plenty of excitement around the grounds throughout the three-day tournament, showcasing the very best hockey regional WA has to offer.

Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association and Esperance mirrored each other throughout the Round-Robin stage of Division 1, earning spots in the Grand Final with two wins and two draws to their names.

After drawing 1-1 earlier in the tournament, it was another tight contest in the Division 1 Grand Final between the defending champions and the newcomers.

However, Bunbury would triumph 2-1 to claim their second Women’s Country Championship title in a row.

Eastern Districts Hockey Association held off Pilbara Krocs 3-1 to claim the Division 2 championship, bouncing back from a 0-2 loss to them earlier in the tournament.

A fierce and tight contest saw Roe Districts Hockey Association hold off Mortlock to claim the Division 3 Championship and recording a massive 13-goal tally in the process.

In Division 4, Upper Great Southern edged out Central Midlands Hockey Association 2-1 to win the Grand Final, capping off a perfect tournament run.

Ongerup claimed the Division 5 title after defeating Pilbara Krocs 3-1 in the Grand Final.

Geraldton Hockey Association pulled off a perfect tournament run in the Masters Division 1 competition, defeating all of their Pool stage opponents and eventually holding off Peel 3-2 to win the Championship.

Masters Division 2 culminated in a cross-town rivalry, with East Avon Women’s Hockey Association defeating Avon 2-1.
