2025 Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships Boys J7/8 Wrap

The next generation of WA’s hockey talent continues to be showcased as the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships roll on for its second week.

From Monday 14 July to Wednesday 16 July, teams from across the state have flocked to Perth Hockey Stadium for the Boys J7/8 competition.

A total of 19 teams initially competed in pool matches before being split into three divisions based on their pool stage performance.

In Division 1, UWA emerged victorious, defeating YMCC 2-0 in a commanding performance to secure the Club Championship.

Both teams showcased exceptional form throughout the three-day tournament, going undefeated in their pool matches.

UWA’s triumph in the final capped off a flawless campaign, as they remained unbeaten across all fixtures.

Whitford capped a strong tournament run with a 2-0 win over Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association in the Grand Final, sealing their success in Division 2.

Upper Great Southern claimed the Division 3 Club Championship with a 3-1 victory over Melville, rounding off an impressive showing.

The Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships continues with the remainder of the Mixed J11/12 Championships at Troy Pickard Hockey Centre and Hale Hockey Club, as well as the Girls J7/8 Championships at Perth Hockey Stadium from Wednesday 16 July to Friday 18 July.
