Published Wed 09 Jul 2025

The talents of Western Australia’s junior hockey clubs are on show as the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships return for 2025.

Teams from across Western Australia converged on the UWA Superturfs as the 2025 Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships kicked off with the Girls J9/10 competition from Monday 7 July to Wednesday 9 July.

A total of 11 teams competed in pool matches throughout the first day of competition before being split into two divisions based on their pool stage performance.

In Division 1, a last-gasp goal via Stella Gordon was all it took for Lower Great Southern to cap off a perfect tournament run, defeating Victoria Park Xavier Hockey Club 1-0 in the Grand Final.

LGSHA dominated throughout the tournament, with their only loss being to Victoria Park during the Pool stage of the tournament.

Victoria Park was also in strong form throughout the tournament, securing big wins against their opponents.

In Division 2, YMCC held off Avon Hockey Association in a tight contest to win the Grand Final 3-2.

The Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships continues with the Boys J9/10 Championships from Wednesday 9 July to Friday 11 July.
