Published Mon 22 Jun 2026

Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association have once again held off a determined Esperance Hockey Association to secure a CBH Group Women’s Country Championship Division 1 three-peat.

The 2026 CBH Group Women’s Country Championships saw 47 teams travel from across regional Western Australia — from the Great Southern to the Pilbara — to compete at Perth Hockey Stadium and Fletcher Park from Friday 19 June to Sunday 21 June.

Across the three-day tournament, the competition delivered thrilling matches, tight contests and strong displays of camaraderie, showcasing the very best of regional hockey.

The Division 1 Final had a sense of déjà vu, with Bunbury and Esperance meeting for the second consecutive year. Despite sustained pressure from Esperance, Bunbury remained composed to secure a 2–0 victory and claim their third straight title.

Lower Great Southern Hockey Association’s Beck Gallimore was named Division 1 Fairest & Best.

In Division 2, Upper Great Southern Hockey Association edged out Eastern Districts Hockey Association by a single goal to claim the championship, reversing the result of their 1–1 draw during the round-robin stage.

Busselton Hockey Association’s Jackie Greiner was awarded Division 2 Fairest & Best honours.

Division 3 saw Central Midlands Coastal Hockey Association claim a narrow win over Roe Districts Hockey Association in an exciting contest decided by a single goal. Central Wheatbelt Ladies Hockey Association’s Dale Cronje was named Fairest & Best.

Collie Hockey Association made a strong return to the championships after several years away, claiming the Division 4 title with a 1–0 win over Central Midlands Hockey Association. Collie went through the competition undefeated. Pilbara Krocs’ Ellie Naisbitt was named Division 4 Fairest & Best.

In Division 5, Bunbury added another title, edging Lower Great Southern 1–0 in a closely contested final. Upper Great Southern Hockey Association’s Hayley Hill was named Fairest & Best.

The Masters Division 1 Grand Final delivered a tight battle between Busselton and Geraldton Hockey Associations, with Busselton prevailing 1–1 (3–2 shootout). Eastern Districts’ Maxine Christie was named Fairest & Best.

Roe Districts Hockey Association claimed the Masters Division 2 title, defeating Lower Great Southern 2–1 in another close contest. Avon’s Alison Ferguson was recognised as Fairest & Best.

Roe Districts also took out the Fallows Cup, awarded to the association with the best aggregate performance across the tournament, while Rynelle Smoker finished as the competition’s leading goal scorer.
