Back-to-back premierships headline action-packed Grand Final Day

A year after clinching their titles in dramatic shootouts, UWA Men’s and Westside Wolves Women’s have both gone back-to-back, successfully defending their Stiles Electrical Premier League Championships.
UWA have claimed consecutive premierships after overcoming a relentless Victoria Park side 2-0 in a fiercely contested Grand Final.
UWA set the tone early, with Cam Geddes bursting through to earn a quick penalty corner, only to be denied by Victoria Park’s resolute defence.
The breakthrough came in the 11th minute, as Nathan Ephraums slotted home a field goal to give UWA the lead.
Victoria Park pressed hard for an equaliser, but UWA’s defence stood strong, maintaining their 1-0 advantage at the first break.
The second quarter saw both teams locked in a tense arm-wrestle, with neither able to break the deadlock despite several promising attacks. UWA held their narrow lead into halftime.
After the break, Victoria Park looked to seize momentum, but UWA struck again in the 33rd minute, with Chris Ciriello converting a penalty corner to double the lead.
The Panthers continued to push forward, but UWA’s defensive unit remained rock-solid, keeping the score at 2-0 heading into the final quarter.
Victoria Park threw everything forward in the closing stages, but UWA’s composure and defensive discipline saw them hold firm.
The final whistle sparked celebrations as UWA secured their second straight Stiles Electrical Premier League Premiership.
UWA’s Chris Bausor capped off a stellar game by claiming the Merv Adams Medal for best on ground.
Westside Wolves delivered another stellar performance to secure consecutive Stiles Electrical Premier League Women’s premierships, edging out Hale 3-2 in a gripping Grand Final.

Wolves were first to strike, as Jessica Freedman found the net with a field goal in the 10th minute.
Hale responded late in the term, with Mariah Williams converting a penalty corner to level the scores at 1-1 by quarter time.

Hale broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through a penalty corner goal from Claire Colwill, but Wolves hit back almost immediately, as Isadora Rakich slotted a field goal to send the teams into halftime locked at 2-2.

Wolves seized their moment in the 37th minute, with Madi Ratcliffe firing home a field goal to put her side ahead.
Despite Hale’s relentless efforts in the final term, the Wolves’ defence held strong, repelling wave after wave of attack.
When the final whistle blew, Westside Wolves celebrated a hard-fought 3-2 victory and their second straight premiership triumph.

In a gripping Premier Division 2 Men’s Grand Final, Hale emerged victorious over YMCC in a dramatic shootout finish, securing the premiership with a 2-2 (4-3 SO) win.
The match was tightly contested from the outset, with both sides displaying determination and skill. Hale broke the deadlock early in the second quarter through a well-executed penalty corner, converted by Geoff Cock.
YMCC responded later in the term, leveling the scores with a field goal from Thomas Ariti.

With both teams trading goals early in the shootout, Hale goalkeeper Travis King stepped up under pressure, making key saves to deny YMCC’s strikers.
Geoff Cock capped off his standout performance by scoring the decisive goal, sealing Hale’s hard-earned premiership triumph.
UWA secured the Premier Division 2 Women’s title with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Fremantle Cockburn in a Grand Final packed with action and momentum swings.
The match started at a frenetic pace, with UWA’s Torva Sharwood opening the scoring with a well-taken field goal.
Fremantle Cockburn quickly responded, leveling the scores through a penalty corner conversion by Ella Carr.
UWA regained the lead before the first break, as Christine Aitken found the net with another field goal.
The second quarter saw both teams locked in a tense battle, but Fremantle Cockburn’s Mackenzie Brewer broke the deadlock with a penalty corner goal, sending the teams into halftime tied at 2-2.
After a scoreless third quarter, UWA seized control in the final term.
Krissy Crew put UWA ahead with a crucial field goal, and Torva Sharwood added her second of the match to seal the win and the premiership for UWA.
WASPS surged to victory in the Premier Division 3 Women’s Grand Final, using a dominant first half to power past Reds and secure the Premiership with a commanding 5-2 win.
UWA stormed to victory in the Premier Division 3 Men’s Grand Final, overpowering Melville 5-1 to claim the Premiership in emphatic style.
In the Junior 9/10 Division 1 Grand Finals, Hale edged out a spirited UWA side 2-1 to capture the Boys Premiership, while UWA delivered a strong performance to defeat YMCC 3-1 and secure the Girls Premiership.
