Goldfields Festival of Hockey is back for 2026!
Published Fri 08 May 2026

Get ready Kalgoorlie - hockey fever is set to take over as the Goldfields Festival of Hockey returns for the third consecutive year!
Proudly supported by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism & Sport, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and Kuuwa Rentals this action-packed festival delivers high-quality hockey, community connection, and elite development opportunities right here in the Goldfields.
The festival gets underway on Thursday 14 May with Hockey WA's Bridging the Gap course, designed to strengthen communication and collaboration between coaches and umpires.
Local officials will also sharpen their skills in an Umpire Briefing, while selected athletes from the Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association take part in a special training session led by elite coaches.
On Friday 15 May, hockey heads into local schools with fun and engaging clinics across town, before the community come together that evening for a Hookin2Hockey event.
Following the event, fans can show their support for local talent as the Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association Senior Women's match takes centre stage.
The festival culminates on Saturday 16 May with an action-filled finale, featuring a Junior Clinic, a Coaching Workshop, and a full schedule of matches - including local EGHA games and the headline attraction: a TeamStar Premier League double-header between North Coast Raiders Hockey Club and Whitford Hockey Club, broadcast LIVE and FREE on Live Hockey WA.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor Glenn Wilson said the City was proud to support an event that continues to deliver lasting benefits for the local community.
"Events like this reinforce Kalgoorlie-Boulders' reputation as a regional sporting destination, while bringing our community together and encouraging the next generation of athletes," he said.
"The City is proud to partner with Hockey WA for a third year to support the growth of hockey in our region, bringing premier league competition to the Goldfields and creating valuable opportunities for players, coaches and officials.
"Having these opportunities delivered locally gives our young athletes direct access to high-level competition and experienced mentors, which is incredibly valuable for their development."
Don't miss this unforgettable weekend of hockey, learning and community spirit in Kalgoorlie!
