A top-end Premier League clash at Hale Turf has seen Hale go out as victors in a nail-biting 4-3 win over third-placed North Coast Raiders.

Only two of the seven goals were scored in the first half, with Hale’s Emily Chalker scoring a field goal early in the piece in the fourth minute, with the next score coming in the dying moments of the second quarter through Hale skipper Fiona Cock.

The Raiders then scored the next two, with Tyler Hurst and Jordyn Holzberger bringing the sides level in the 46th minute but Hale’s Fiona Cock replied two minutes later to score her second of the match to bring Hale’s lead back to 3-2.

In the final 10 minutes of the match, Siena Tonkin scored in the 51st minute to bring the sides level once again, but Hale’s Line Malan saved the day for her side, scoring a field goal in the final minute of the match to snatch the victory.

The Suburban Lions secured their second win in a row and third of the season, defeating Curtin 2-1.

Curtin’s Ione Patten opened the scoring for the match in the 11th minute, but the Lions secured the win with goals to Melissa Hartigan in the 27th minute and Hockeyroos’ Amy Lawton in her return to the club late in the 54th minute.

Hale have shot up to second on the live standings in the men’s competition through a strong 4-1 victory over YMCC.

Hale’s Sam McCullock was the star of the show, scoring all of Hale’s four goals in a dominant performance for the club.

Reds have secured their first win of the season in the women’s competition, defeating a winless Melville side 6-3 in the side’s strongest outing for the season thus far.
