Hockey stalwarts honoured in AUS day awards

A unique Hockey WA flavour hit the Australia Day Honours and Awards list for 2022, with three key hockey people awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for their outstanding efforts in their community and beyond.

Warrant Officer Class One Bradley Foster, CSM OAM, of the Eastern Blades Hockey Club O40s side, was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the Military Division for his outstanding service across a range of roles in the military.

Hale Hockey Club stalwart Paul Carter OAM was acknowledged for his service to community through a range of roles, most notably his efforts with The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia.

Busselton Hockey Association’s Chairperson Wally Lord OAM was recognised for his years of volunteering in a plethora of roles across organisations in the Busselton area, including coaching multiple generations of players in Busselton.

Hockey WA extends its congratulations to all recipients of the Award and thanks them for their service.

For meritorious service in Instructor and Company Sergeant Major appointments at the Royal Military College Duntroon; the Officer Cadet School of New Zealand; and the 6th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment.

Hale Hockey Club

For service to the community through a range of roles.

 

Wally Lord OAM

Busselton Hockey Association

For service to the community through a range of organisations.
