This year’s Telethon TV broadcast and Family Festival will have a significant hockey flavour, with the sport and its players to be front and centre on TV screens and at Optus Stadium across the weekend.
A range of high-profile players from the Perth Thundersticks, the Hockeyroos and the Kookaburras will feature in the activities, raising the profile of the sport and supporting the great work undertaken by Telethon.
Hockey stars including Kookaburras and Hockeyroos representatives such as Eddie Ockenden, Jeremy Hayward, Brooke Peris, Jane Claxton, Jake Harvie and Amy Lawton, will feature in a range of activities and/or within the broadcast, with a particularly strong presence at Sunday’s Telethon Family Festival, presented by Coles.
The Western Australian hockey community’s support of Telethon, however, has stretched across the year with more than $3800 raised through gate takings and/or donations at the Ric Charlesworth Classic and Hockey WA’s Grand Final Day.
Thank you to all who have supported Telethon throughout the year.
