Junior Participation Committee

Hockey WA has now opened nominations for the Junior Participation Committee.

Committee members will preferably sit within the following priorities:

• Experience organising sub juniors at club level;
• Early childhood teaching;
• Experience junior coaching;
• Knowledge of and experience with the Working With Children Check legislation - Working with Children (Criminal Record Checking) Act 2004 (WA);
• Knowledge of and experience with child safeguarding policies and procedures.

The Committee is responsible for providing advice and recommendations to HWA on the following;

• The growth of hockey for participants prior to entering HWA affiliated competition (J5/6).
• Seek to ensure a consistent product is delivered around the state
• Embrace, educate and engage with of parents of sub junior players .
• Integrate an emerging officials’ program as part of the sub junior competition.  
• Metropolitan school engagement strategy, including metropolitan school zones, Ambassadors and Partner Schools.
• New junior hockey products including Goldstix  (schools, small sided games and resources).
• HWA’s inclusive hockey programs for junior participation (diversity, CALD, indigenous).
• Championing a consolidated approach to club participation programs.
