Old Guildfordians Mundaring and Hale competed in a scintillating 4-4 draw at Guildford Turf in what shapes to be one of the contests of the season thus far in the 2022 Premier League season.

Hales’ Jack Faulkner opened the scoring in the fourth minute for his side, but Guildford’s Chris Ciriello quickly replied with a goal of his own from a penalty corner in the ninth minute.

Hale then piled on another two with Hayden Beltz and the league’s top goal scorer in Liam Flynn in the 26th and 31st minutes to take Hale’s lead to 3-1.

In a dominant drag flicking display, Guildford’s Chris Ciriello then scored the next three of the match for his side in the 35th, 43rd and 51st minutes to flip the lead 4-3 in his side’s favour.

Hale’s Brayden King then found goal late in the 58th minute, with both sides reaching a 4-4 deadlock as the final buzzer sounded in an exciting display of hockey.

Westside Wolves put on a dominant display in this round’s Premier League action, securing a double-header victory against the men’s and women’s Reds sides at Aquinas Turf.

The women’s Wolves side move to second on the standings with a game in hand after a strong 5-0 victory over Reds – Wolves’ Elly Buckley returning to her 2021 top goal scorer form with a hat-trick.

In the Lizzie Watkins Memorial Match, North Coast Raiders faced-off against an in-form Curtin who looked to replicate their strong form against UWA in the previous round.

Raiders’ Lexie Elliott opened the scoring in the eight minute, with Tyler Hurst and Zoey Clifford finding goal in the 34th and 45th minutes respectively to secure a 3-1 victory.

Fremantle Cockburn claimed their second win of the season in the men’s competition, after a strong 5-1 victory over Curtin.
