Perth Thundersticks Team Selection: Round 4 vs Hockey Club Melbourne
Published Thu 30 Oct 2025
The Perth Thundersticks are set for a pivotal home clash against Hockey Club Melbourne this Sunday, with the men looking to build on last week’s win and the women welcoming key players back as they chase their first victory of the 2025 ONE Active Hockey One season.
Women’s
As the Perth Thundersticks Women’s team continues their pursuit of a breakthrough win in the 2025 ONE Active Hockey One season, three strategic changes have been made to the squad ahead of their second home fixture.
The Thundersticks are set to face Hockey Club Melbourne in a high-stakes showdown at Perth Hockey Stadium on Sunday 2 November – a must-win match for both sides as they aim to keep their campaigns alive.
Former Hockeyroo Georgia Wilson makes her long-awaited return to the lineup, marking her first appearance of the season after recovering from injury.
Wilson brings valuable experience and midfield depth, having delivered a strong campaign with Victoria Park Xavier Hockey Club, where she played 21 matches and netted four goals.
She also famously scored the match-winner in the Thundersticks’ 2024 Grand Final triumph.
Joining her in the squad are co-captain Penny Squibb and rising star Caitlyn Templeman, both returning to reinforce the defensive unit.
Squibb missed the recent trip to Adelaide due to unavailability, while Templeman was sidelined due to injury.
The trio will replace Saysha Pillay, Bellé Ramshaw and Britney DeSilva, who have been omitted from this week’s selection.
The last time the Thundersticks met HC Melbourne, they secured a dominant 6-2 victory on the road.
With both teams still chasing their first win of the season, Sunday’s clash promises to be a fiercely contested battle with finals implications on the line.

Men’s
Fresh off a dominant road win over Adelaide, the Perth Thundersticks Men's team return home with renewed momentum and a refreshed line-up as they prepare to face reigning premiers Hockey Club Melbourne.
The Thundersticks will take to the turf at Perth Hockey Stadium this Sunday, 2 November, with two key changes to their squad.
Kookaburra Cam Geddes makes his return from injury, while promising young gun Kye Stirrat is set to make his Hockey One debut.
Geddes rejoins the Thundersticks after a standout year that saw him earn his Kookaburras debut during the Argentinian leg of the 2024/25 FIH Pro League and feature in the 2025 Oceania Cup.
His last competitive appearance came in UWA's Premiership-winning performance in the 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League Men's Grand Final.
Stirrat, now in his second season with the Thundersticks, has earned his debut after a consistent 2025 club campaign with Victoria Park Xavier Hockey Club, featuring in 22 matches and netting six goals.
Geddes and Stirrat come in for Pat Andrew and Jeremy Mayne, who have been omitted from this week's lineup.
Last time the Thundersticks took on HC Melbourne, the Thundersticks pulled off the comeback of the 2024 season, coming from two goals down at half time to win 5-4 in dramatic fashion.
This time, the Thundersticks look to build on their Round 3 form as HC Melbourne look to bounce back from a 2-4 loss to NSW Pride.
