Perth Thundersticks Team Selection: Round 5 vs Tassie Tigers
Published Thu 06 Nov 2025
As Round 6 of the Hockey One League approaches, both Perth Thundersticks squads are gearing up for a crucial double-header against the Tassie Tigers on Saturday, 8 November.
Men
Following a narrow loss to Hockey Club Melbourne, the Perth Thundersticks Men’s team are eager to bounce back as they prepare to make the trip across the Bass Strait.
Still in pursuit of their second win of the 2025 season, the Thundersticks will take on the Tassie Tigers on Saturday, 8 November.
Head Coach Stephen Davies has urged his side to show grit and determination, backing the same squad that took the field last weekend.
The last meeting between these two teams saw the Thundersticks edge out the Tigers in a dramatic shootout in front of a home crowd. This time, they’ll be looking to replicate that winning form and put a stop to the Tigers’ momentum.
Adding an extra layer of intrigue to the matchup, the Thundersticks could face former teammate Matt Bird, who made the move to the Tigers following the 2024 season.

Women’s
With their first win of the 2025 season still eluding them, the Perth Thundersticks Women’s team are keeping changes to a minimum as they prepare to hit the road once again.
Following a hard-fought contest against Hockey Club Melbourne, the Thundersticks have made two adjustments to their lineup ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Tassie Tigers.
Neasa Flynn returns to the squad after several weeks on the sidelines due to injury, while Bellé Ramshaw also rejoins the team.
The duo step in for Penny Squibb, who has been ruled out with injury, and Lexie Pickering, sidelined due to concussion protocols.
The last time these sides met, the Thundersticks delivered a commanding performance, securing a three-goal victory in front of a home crowd.
This time, they’ll be aiming to rediscover that dominant form and secure their first full points of the season.
Adding a layer of intrigue to the matchup, the Thundersticks may come up against a familiar face in Roos Swann.
A former Thunderstick from the inaugural Hockey One season in 2019, Swann has made her return to the league this year—this time in Tigers colours.
