Phil Wilson reappointed to Hockey WA board for further three years

Hockey WA are pleased to announce the extension of Phil Wilson's term as an Appointed member of the Hockey WA Board.

The Board recently supported a motion to extend Mr Wilson's tenure for a further three-year term.

Since being appointed to the Board in February 2021, Mr Wilson has provided support on several technical matters, as well as considerable guidance to the Risk and Governance Committee to ensure it is meeting its fiduciary responsibilities to the highest standard.

After retiring from legal practice in 2020, Mr Wilson joined the Hockey WA Board as a way to give back to the sport he had played for the majority of his life, and continues to play to this day.

Mr Wilson began playing for YMCC as a teenager and continues to have strong ties with the club, having served as a vice-president and provided guidance with legal work as required such as tenure arrangement, drafting a new constitution and later updating that same constitution to comply with the 2015 Associations Incorporations Act.

Along with playing Saturday hockey with YMCC, Mr Wilson also plays on Wednesday afternoons in the C Division WA Masters Hockey competition.
