Regional Round-up I 1 May 2022

GOLDFIELDS-ESPERANCE Esperance

It's the first weekend of hockey action in Esperance. 

All senior matches are set to take place Saturday, beginning with a women's match between Furies and Emus.

In the same competition, Mallee is up against Bacchus and Sharks take on Condingup. 

Men's matches between Condingup and Rams and Sharks and Castletown will also feature as opening rounds for the season. 

 

Goldfields

The Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association has opened nominations for year 7/8 teams for the upcoming club championships in Perth.

Selection trials will begin on Monday, May 9 with girls at 4:30pm and boys at 5pm. 

The Championships will take place in the first week of the July school holidays. 

All juniors are welcomed to trial for the sides.

GREAT SOUTHERN Upper Great Southern – Narrogin

The junior season is underway in Narrogin!

Triple M middle and upper school competitions began Thursday evening, Friday Goldstix and Triple M J7's began. 

Women's Super League action kicked off at Narrogin Turf on Friday evening, with a match between AFGRI Deeres and Nutrien Ag Strikers, and another between Byfields Bullets and GSW Vipers.

PEEL

Mandurah 

Action gets underway this Sunday at the Sporting Globe Stadium in Mandurah! 

From 10am until 4:30pm, a range of junior and senior matches will take place at the stadium. 

The fixtures include:

10:00am - J9/10 Girls: Peel Rebels v WASP 3

11:30am - J9/10 Boys: Peel Rebels v Fremantle Cockburn

1:30pm - Division 4 Women: Peel Rebels v Whitfords 2

3:00pm - Division 3 Men: Peel Rebels v Hale 3

SOUTH WEST Margaret River

It's round one for the juniors in the idyllic Margaret River region.

Friday's action saw Countrys take on Capels and Robins up against Wests in the 9-12 girls. 

In the 9-12 boys, Capel played Cavaliers on Friday, while Sunday sees Countrys and Wests. 

Round two of the local masters competition was played Thursday evening, Masters Redbacks the first of the evening against Capel. 

Shortly afterward, Cougars had MRHC and Centrals lined up opposite Jets.
