Kalgoorlie
CBC notched a fourth consecutive victory in the Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association’s A1 women’s competition, beating Mines 3-0.
The effort came thanks to a best afield performance from young gun Mia Dellar, older sister Kyra also impressive.
In the other women’s fixture, Norths and YMHC drew 2-2 – in a thrilling match that went down to the wire.
YMHC lead 2-1 with 10 seconds remaining, before a late equaliser robbed them of their first win of the season.
In the men’s league, Norths continue their dominant start to the A1 men’s season, with a 7-0 thrashing over YMHC in a top-versus-bottom clash.
Chris Souchon and Michael Scruth bagged two goals apiece in the victory.
In other results, CBC edged out mines 3-2 in a nailbiter.
GREAT SOUTHERN
Lower Great Southern – Albany
Spencer Park continued their unbeaten start to the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association men’s A Grade season last weekend with a 2-0 win over North Albany on Saturday.
In the evening game, Manypeaks opened their season account with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vikings.
The women’s A Grade action saw Spencer Park cause an upset over reigning champions North Albany, 3-1.
