The Esperance Hockey Association Junior Committee are planning some goalie clinics in the near future.

The brand new RUC Welcome to Hockey program is back!

Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association thanks all who were involved in the first session of 2022, after some delays in equipment arrival.

“From the smiles on the kids faces (and some tears) it looked like all the kids had a great time,” the Association says on its Facebook page.  

GREAT SOUTHERN

Lower Great Southern – Albany

A loan goal separated North Albany and Vikings in a thrilling season opener in the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association.

The men’s A-Grade competition got underway last weekend, with North Albany and Spencer Park scoring the first victories of the season.

Robert Stan-Bishop was the lone goalscorer for North Albany, while Spencer Park got one back on Manypeaks for last year’s grand final loss in a scintillating 5-2 triumph.

In the women’s league, reigning premiers North Albany started their title defence with a 4-0 thrashing of Manypeaks.

Spencer Park won the other opening round match against Mount Barker – a penalty corner goal contributing to a 1-0 scoreline.

  MID WEST Geraldton Some of the State’s biggest hockey stars will head north as part of the Mid West Festival of Hockey later in May.

Courtesy of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural industries' Country Sport Enrichment Scheme, four days of hockey action will take place in Geraldton – including a number of Premier League fixtures.

Budding under-12s and under-15s hockey guns will have access to free clinics on the Saturday morning prior to the Premier League matches between Reds and Hale.

  SOUTH WEST Bunbury The South West Hockey League action last weekend saw history repeat, with a grand final rematch to provide entertainment for all.

Reigning premiers Boyanup were too strong for Wests once again, prevailing 3-1.

In other round two matches Towns/Souths came from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw against Marist and Associates defeat Exies 6-1.

Womens action included Marist knocking off Towns/Souths 3-1, Boyanup smashed Robins 7-0 and Associates were victorious over Exies 4-0.
