Stiles Electrical Premier League Round 15 wrap

Published Mon 04 Aug 2025

From big wins to exciting draws, there was plenty of action to take in during the fifteenth round of the 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League season.

Women's

Suburban Lions 5 def. Melville 0
Suburban Lions have continued to build on their strong form, notching a 5-0 win over Melville at Lemnos Field. Lions were first out of the blocks with goals via Georgina Dowd and Jolie Sertorio throughout the first half, with import Pricilla Mateos putting the cherry on top in her last game with two goals of her own. Despite Melville's efforts, there was  no stopping the Lions.

Victoria Park 3 drew Hale 3
An exciting contest between Victoria Park and Hale at Perth Hockey Stadium saw both teams meeting each other's match, playing out a 3-3 draw. While Hale were first to hit the scoreboard courtesy of two second-quarter goals via Shanae Haywood, Victoria Park would respond and take the lead during the second half. Determined not to go down without a fight, a 59th minute goal via Claire Colwill saw Hale level the score in dramatic fashion.

North Coast Raiders 4 def. Whitford 3
North Coast Raiders showed plenty of resilience in their latest outing, holding off a determined Whitford outfit 4-3 at Troy Pickard Hockey Centre. In a fairly even match, the Raiders seemed to have an answer for everything Whitford threw at them, maintaining a one-goal advantage throughout the majority of the contest. Although Whitford came close to pulling off a comeback victory, a last minute goal from Shanea Tonkin sealed the deal for the Raiders.

Westside Wolves 3 def. Reds 1
Westside Wolves have continued to prove themselves as top contenders, holding off Reds by two goals at Aquinas College in wintry conditions. The Wolves would hit the scoreboard first via Elly Buckley in the opening quarter and shake off mounting pressure in the third with two goals via Madi Ratcliffe. While Reds would find a goal from Abby Davies late in the match, it was not enough to topple the Wolves.

WASPS 3 def. UWA 2
WASPS came from behind to pip UWA at the post 3-2 in an exciting contest at UWA Superturfs. While UWA would dominate during the opening quarter with goals via Lexie Pickering and Prada Herron, WASPS would stage a huge comeback in the second half, with a last-gasp penalty stroke by Kaitlin Nobbs putting the cherry on top.

Men's

Reds vs. Westside Wolves
Wet conditions forced the match between Reds and Westside Wolves into a cliffhanger. While the Wolves held a 3-1 lead over the Reds in their match-up at Aquinas College, the contest was ultimately called off at half time due to the turf becoming unplayable. The second half will be played at a later date.

Melville 9 def. Mods-OGM 1
A week after ending Fremantle Cockburn's undefeated streak, Melville have begun finding form late in the season - recording a dominant 9-1 victory over Mods-OGM at Guildford Grammar School. James Day starred for Melville, scoring five goals to help his team to victory. Mods-OGM did well to find a quick response early in the contest and apply pressure in the final quarter.

Victoria Park 4 def. Hale 2
Victoria Park have continued building a case for the finals, recording a 4-2 victory over Hale at Perth Hockey Stadium. The exciting match saw Victoria Park build a lead and Hale would eventually catch up halfway through the fourth quarter. However, Victoria Park held strong to score a further two goals late in the contest to secure the win.

Whitford 4 def. North Coast Raiders 1
After coming close to victory in recent weeks, Whitford's tenacity has paid off with a 4-1 win over North Coast Raiders at Troy Pickard Hockey Centre. While the first half saw an even contest, Whitford put the pedal to the metal during the second half, with Ricky Hayward, Simon Naughtin and Jamie Lyall scoring goals.

UWA 9 def. WASPS 3
UWA have bounced back from a loss in Round 14 to record an emphatic 9-3 victory over WASPS on home turf to find form. A hat-trick from Cam Geddes helped UWA on their way to recording the win, with Nathan Ephraums and Harry Golding also scoring multiple goals. Jack Kruger shined for WASPS, scoring two goals for the visiting side.

YMCC 3 drew Fremantle Cockburn 3
In a thrilling contest at Lemnos Field, YMCC and Fremantle Cockburn could not be separated, playing out a 3-3 draw. YMCC were first to build a lead with goals via Max Freedman and Marshall Puzey, only for Fremantle Cockburn to respond via Rhys Angwin to get themselves on the board. While YMCC would extend their lead further with a goal via Luke Blee, the Magpies would fight back during the second half with Ehren Hazell and Jack Welch levelling the score.
