With thrilling results in the final round of the regular season, the stage is now set for the 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League finals.
Women's
Westside Wolves 1 def by Suburban Lions 2
In a gripping clash between the league’s top contenders, Suburban Lions edged out Westside Wolves to secure their first-ever minor premiership. After a tightly contested opening quarter, it was Georgina Dowd who broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, slotting a field goal to give the Lions an early lead. The match then settled into a tense stalemate, with both sides battling fiercely through the second and third quarters without adding to the scoreboard. The deadlock was finally broken in the 50th minute when Maria Guastavino calmly converted a penalty stroke, doubling the Lions’ advantage. Westside Wolves responded swiftly, with Madison Naish narrowing the margin with a well-taken field goal. However, the Lions held firm in the closing stages, sealing a hard-fought victory and celebrating their historic minor premiership triumph.
WASPS 0 def by Victoria Park 3
Victoria Park solidified their finals credentials with a commanding 3-0 victory over WASPS, keeping a clean sheet in a performance that showcased their defensive resilience and attacking flair. After a competitive opening exchange, Ellie Davies broke the deadlock in the first quarter, giving the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Beatriz Monger-Molowny doubled the advantage before halftime with a well-placed field goal, putting Victoria Park firmly in control. The momentum continued into the third quarter, with Georgia Wilson adding a third to extend the lead to 3-0. Despite WASPS’ efforts to mount a comeback, the Panthers held their ground, securing a crucial win and cementing their place in the top five heading into finals.
Melville 2 def. North Coast Raiders 1
Melville wrapped up their 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League campaign on a high note, edging out North Coast Raiders in a tightly contested match to secure a 2-1 victory. The tone was set early when Yuu Asai found the back of the net just three minutes in, converting a penalty corner to give Melville an early lead. Despite the Raiders pressing for an equaliser, Melville maintained their advantage through the first quarter. Capitalising on their momentum, Melville extended their lead before halftime with a sharp field goal from Jemma Green, making it 2-0. The Raiders came out firing in the second half, with Harriet Chin narrowing the gap with a well-taken field goal. The remainder of the match saw both sides locked in a tense battle, but Melville’s defence held firm to secure the win and end their season on a strong note.
YMCC 1 def by Hale 13
Hale have sent a strong message ahead of finals, delivering one of the biggest winning margins of the 2025 season with a dominant 13-1 victory over YMCC. The tone was set early, with Shanae Haywood opening the scoring via a penalty corner in the fifth minute. Elyssa Melville followed up with another penalty corner goal, before Haywood struck again with a field goal to give Hale a commanding 3-0 lead at quarter time. The second quarter saw Hale continue their relentless pressure, adding three more goals through Kirstin Dwyer (penalty corner), Tyler Pedley (field goal), and Sienna Joubert (field goal) to take a 6-0 lead into halftime. After the break, Haywood stole the spotlight with a stunning hat-trick—scoring a penalty corner and two field goals. YMCC managed to get on the board with a field goal from Ashley Muir, but Hale responded swiftly with Michaela Spano adding a late goal to make it 10-1 at the final change. Hale’s dominance continued into the final quarter, with Spano converting a penalty corner, Liné Malan adding a field goal, and Pedley scoring her second to seal an emphatic 13-1 win and reinforce Hale’s finals credentials.
Whitford 0 def by UWA 8
UWA have locked in their place in the 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League finals with a commanding 8-0 win over Whitford, showcasing their attacking depth and defensive discipline. After a tightly contested start, the breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Neasa Flynn opened the scoring with a well-taken field goal. Despite Whitford’s efforts to respond, UWA held firm to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. The third quarter saw UWA shift gears, with Lexie Pickering netting two quick field goals to extend the margin to 3-0. From there, UWA took full control in the final term, piling on five more goals. Maddie DeSilva and Jessica Butterworth each added field goals, Bellé Ramshaw converted a penalty corner, Flynn scored her second, and Pickering completed her hat-trick to seal the emphatic victory.
Men's
Westside Wolves 11 def. Mods-OGM 0
Westside Wolves wrapped up their 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League campaign in emphatic fashion, delivering a commanding 11-0 victory over Mods-OGM to finish on a high. The Wolves wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Fletcher Netherway opening the scoring in just the second minute. Patrick Andrew added another before quarter time, giving the Wolves a 2-0 lead. The second quarter saw the Wolves shift into top gear, netting five unanswered goals. Aaron Kleinschmidt, Tom Harvie, Lachie Cain, and a quick-fire double from Matthew Edgar extended the lead to 7-0 by halftime. Mods-OGM attempted to slow the momentum in the third quarter, but the Wolves broke through again late in the term with Dane Gavranich adding to the tally. Leading 8-0 at the final break, the Wolves continued their relentless attack in the last quarter. Will Byas added a field goal, and Tom Harvie completed his hat-trick with two more goals in a fiery finish, sealing an 11-0 win and a powerful end to their season.
Fremantle Cockburn 3 def by Reds 5
Reds have finished their 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League season on a high note, knocking off Fremantle Cockburn by two goals to cause an upset. Both teams threw everything at each other from the outset with neither side scoring until late in the opening term. While Aran Zalewski would score a penalty corner goal to put the Reds in front, Fremantle Cockburn responded quickly with a penalty corner goal via Ehren Hazell to bring the scores level at quarter time. Although the Magpies attempted to gain a lead with a field goal via Harrison Keymer early in the second quarter, Zach Rakkas would respond with a field goal of his own to bring the scores level at 2-2 by half time. Two quick penalty corner goals helped Reds take the lead once again with Rakkas and Brodee Foster scoring in quick succession to lead 4-2 at three-quarter time. In an exciting finish, Foster would add another penalty corner goal to extend the Reds' lead. While Hazell would score a second penalty corner goal for the Magpies, the Reds held firm to claim the win 5-3.
Melville 7 def. North Coast Raiders 0
Melville have locked in their place in the 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League finals with a dominant 7-0 victory over North Coast Raiders, showcasing their firepower and defensive strength. The tone was set early, with James Day converting a penalty corner in the third minute, followed by a field goal from Matt Willis just four minutes later to give Melville a 2-0 lead at quarter time. Despite the Raiders’ efforts to respond, Melville continued to build momentum, extending their lead in the second quarter with a field goal from Ben Staines to make it 3-0 at the half. Melville’s control only grew in the third term, with Day adding a second penalty corner goal and Oliver McGill contributing a field goal to push the margin to 5-0 by three-quarter time. In the final quarter, Melville held firm and finished strong—Staines netted his second field goal, and Day completed a hat-trick with another penalty corner conversion, sealing an emphatic 7-0 win and a confident stride into finals.
WASPS 5 def. Victoria Park 4
WASPS wrapped up their 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League campaign in style, edging out a determined Victoria Park side in a nail-biting 5-4 victory. Victoria Park struck first through a penalty corner conversion by Matthew Dawson, but Zed Kearnan responded late in the opening term with a field goal to level the scores. The back-and-forth battle continued into the second quarter, with Samuel Keir putting the Panthers ahead via another penalty corner, only for Shaun Shackley to equalise for the WASPS just before halftime. Shackley gave WASPS the lead in the third quarter with a well-executed penalty corner goal, setting the stage for a dramatic final term. Connar Otterbach extended the lead with another penalty corner, but Victoria Park hit back quickly through Jake Whetton. Daniel Rayney added a crucial field goal for WASPS, and despite a late surge from Victoria Park with a goal from Kurtis Scaini, WASPS held firm to claim a hard-fought win and finish their season on a high.
YMCC 3 def. Hale 2
YMCC have bolstered their finals credentials with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Hale, surviving a late surge to secure the win. Koby Ashford opened the scoring for YMCC with a field goal, giving the home side an early edge. Jesse Regan doubled the lead before halftime, putting YMCC in control at the break. Liam Hart extended the margin in the third quarter with another field goal, making it 3-0 heading into the final term. Hale mounted a late comeback with goals from Jack Pearce and Ian Grobbelaar, but YMCC held firm under pressure to claim the win and solidify their spot in the finals race.
Whitford 1 def by UWA 4
UWA have cemented their place in the 2025 Stiles Electrical Premier League finals with a composed 4-1 victory over Whitford. Whitford struck first late in the opening quarter, with Fraser Heigh finding the back of the net through a field goal. But UWA responded in the second term, as Ethan Yem levelled the scores with a well-taken field goal. Momentum shifted in UWA’s favour during the third quarter, with Maxime Pitance and Flynn Ogilvie each adding field goals to give their side a 3-1 lead. The final quarter saw UWA extend their advantage further, as Chris Bausor converted a penalty corner to seal the win and confirm their finals berth.
Premier Division 2
In the Men's competition, Westside Wolves held off Rockingham Redbacks 6-4 in an exciting contest, Reds edged out Fremantle Cockburn 2-1, Melville defeated Curtin University 4-1, WASPS recorded a clean-sheet win over Victoria Park 4-0, Hale held off YMCC 3-2, and UWA edged out Whitford 4-3.
In the Women's competition, Victoria Park produced a dominant 6-1 win over North Coast Raiders, UWA defeated Hale 3-1, Fremantle Cockburn defeated Reds in emphatic fashion 6-0, Suburban Lions held firm against Westside Wolves 5-1, and Melville defeated Curtin University 3-1.
