Fremantle Cockburn have kept their finals campaign alive with a convincing 4-1 victory over YMCC, showcasing composure and clinical execution across all four quarters. The opening term was a tightly contested affair, with both sides battling hard to gain the early advantage. It was the Magpies who eventually broke the deadlock in the second quarter, as Ehren Hazell found the back of the net with a well-taken field goal in the 17th minute. Momentum continued to build for Fremantle Cockburn, with Matt Bird capitalising on a penalty corner just minutes later to give his side a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. Their persistence paid off in the 41st minute when Jack Welch extended the lead to 3-0 with another penalty corner conversion. Fremantle Cockburn didn’t let up in the final quarter, with Ben O'Grady adding a fourth goal via yet another penalty corner. Semi Final 2: Suburban Lions def by Westside Wolves 0-1
A dramatic late goal from Madi Ratcliffe was all Westside Wolves needed to secure their second consecutive berth in the Stiles Electrical Premier League Grand Final, edging out Suburban Lions in a thrilling semi-final clash under the lights at Perth Hockey Stadium. Early in the third quarter, the Lions had an opportunity to take the lead with a penalty stroke, but Wolves goalkeeper Evie Dalton rose to the occasion, denying the chance and keeping the scores level. The Wolves responded with another penalty corner attempt, but it too went begging, leaving the match scoreless heading into the final break.
