Fremantle Cockburn defeated North Coast Raiders 5-0
Fremantle Cockburn delivered a dominant performance on Friday 5 June, securing a convincing five-goal win over the North Coast Raiders in front of a home crowd at the Lakelands Hockey and Sporting Facility. The opening quarter was evenly contested, with both sides sharing possession in a tight start. Each team earned penalty corner opportunities late in the period, but neither could convert. The Magpies broke the deadlock in the second quarter, as persistence paid off with field goals from Fraser Heigh and Jazze Henry establishing a valuable lead. North Coast Raiders attempted to fight back in the third quarter, but Fremantle Cockburn’s defence stood strong, keeping the visitors at bay as the match settled into a stalemate. In the final term, the Magpies asserted their dominance. Lachlan Rogers and Henry added further field goals, before Matt Bird sealed the emphatic victory with a successful penalty corner.

UWA struck early, with Harry Golding converting a penalty corner, but the Wolves quickly responded as Dane Gavranich found the back of the net with a field goal. The Wolves edged ahead late in the term, with Tom Harvie scoring from a penalty corner to give his side the lead. The second quarter became a tense battle for control. UWA earned multiple penalty corner opportunities but were unable to convert, while the Wolves capitalised late in the period, with Harvie netting his second from a penalty corner to extend the margin.
