KMSB Youth International Gryphon Cup to return in 2026

Published Fri 28 Aug 2026

One of the most popular and highly anticipated events on the Hockey WA calendar is set to return, with the KMSB Youth International Gryphon Cup back in 2026!

As the KMSB Youth International Gryphon Cup continues to grow, the 2026 tournament is already attracting strong interest from an increasing number of interstate and international teams.

In response to this growth, Hockey WA will enter six (6) teams representing WA’s emerging Under-16 hockey talent across the Boys’ and Girls’ competitions.

The teams representing WA will be:

  • KMSB Stars (Boys & Girls)
  • Kuuwa Highlanders (Boys & Girls)
  • OMSB Outbacks (Boys & Girls)

The KMSB Stars and Kuuwa Highlanders squads will feature athletes who represented WA at the 2026 Hockey Australia Under 16 Championships in Newcastle, NSW earlier this year.

Training has already commenced, and Hockey WA looks forward to seeing these athletes represent WA with pride at the 2026 KMSB YIGC.

The OMSB Outbacks will once again provide a dedicated pathway for regional athletes to come together as one team and compete against local, interstate, and international opposition in a high-quality tournament environment.

Trials for athletes wishing to be considered for the OMSB Outbacks will commence in early October, with nominations now open.
